English Language Competition

FINCO’s annual English Language Competition is open to teachers and students in government schools. The competition aims to recognise the efforts of outstanding educators and students and share examples of best practice teaching and learning. Look out for the launch of the 2023 competition on our social media pages.

Remedial Instruction Programme

Understanding the pressing need to support pupils who are struggling to keep up with the English language curriculum, in 2022 the Remedial Instruction programme was launched in partnership with the Ministry of Education Malaysia’s English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC).

The Programme provides English teachers across the country with the training, mentoring and classroom resources to employ remedial instruction strategies to support pupils with low levels of English proficiency. As well as improved teaching strategies, teachers are supported to integrate proficiency assessments into everyday lessons to identify and address the individual needs of pupils and measure progress.
