Achievements in 2022

We work with teachers to identify schools or students adversely affected by disasters. From rebuilding classrooms hit by floods, to providing supplies and equipment, we collaborate with financial institutions to mitigate the impact of disasters so that students can remain focused on their education.

Flood relief

With an increase in flooding incidents in recent years the number of affected schools has also risen. FINCO works closely with financial institutions to support schools with their recovery by ensuring financial or in-kind assistance meets the individual needs of each school as quickly as possible and also volunteers in clean-up efforts.

Flood preparedness resources

Are you a teacher/parent looking for engaging resources to help prepare students for floods? We teamed up with the Prudence Foundation to develop activities based on their Safe Steps videos for use by teachers in class or school  assembly. Whilst the videos and hard copy resources are sent out to schools with low connectivity, all schools are able to download the materials from FINCO’s website.

Covid-19 Relief

With the prolonged lockdowns causing great hardship for the families of many students in FINCO programme schools, FINCO, along with additional support from several financial institutions, was able to offer significant amounts of aid in 2021.

COVID-19 food aid

In 2021, thanks to the generosity of our members, 2,620 families received three months’ worth of groceries to help them get back on their feet.

Back to school kit for FINCO schools

As the country opened up and students went back to school, we were alerted to the struggles of many students to afford basic protective equipment. Assistance through the distribution of masks, test kits and other essentials was provided to 232 schools across the country to help students remain safe at school.
