FINCO’s Safe Roads, Secure Futures competition is open to all secondary school students (Forms 1 to 5) who want to keep their friends and community safe.

Through this challenge, you’ll learn how to stay safe and manage risks when riding motorcycles—then use your creativity to design a road safety campaign that inspires your peers to make smart, safe choices. 🎨🚦

Whether it’s a poster, video, event, or something totally out-of-the-box, send us your campaign idea. This is your chance to shine and win amazing prizes!

Categories

The competition is open to all secondary school students from Malaysian national schools.

You can take part individually or as a group, but remember, each group can only submit one entry.

If your group has members from different age categories, your submission will be placed under the category of the oldest participant.

Prizes

Each category will have 3 winners (Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards) as well as 2 Distinctions, selected based on judging criteria.
Award winners and distinctions in both categories will receive a Certificate of Achievement 🏆

How Can You Participate?

What You First Need to Do:

Look around your community and identify the road safety issues that stand out such as riding without helmets, speeding, or illegal street racing.

What happens after you submit your entry?

Top 10 submissions for each category will be shortlisted.

What the judges are looking for?

  1. Eligibility
    • Open to all secondary school students from national schools in Malaysia.
    • Students who do not meet these criteria will be disqualified.
  2. Submission Rules
    • Entries may be submitted individually or in groups (maximum one entry per student/group).
    • Participants will compete under the following categories:
      • Category A: Form 1–3 students (13–15 years old)
      • Category B: Form 4–5 students (16–17 years old)
    • For group submissions with participants from different age categories, the entry will automatically be placed under the category of the oldest participant.
    • Submissions can be in English or Bahasa Malaysia.
    • All work must be original and created by the student(s). Plagiarism or use of copyrighted material without permission will result in disqualification.
    • Entries must follow the submission guidelines provided in the competition brief. Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted.
    • Explicit content is strictly prohibited in the submission.
  3. Format
    • Campaigns can be presented in any format as long as they follow the competition guidelines.
  4. Parental/Guardian Consent
    • If you are a student under the age of 18 or submitting on their behalf and are not their parent or guardian, before submitting an entry please ensure you have a parent or guardian’s permission to participate and their agreement to the following terms:
    • By entering this competition, you agree to give FINCO your permission to publish any materials for promotional or educational purposes on their online platforms.
    • The publication will take place on the FINCO website, on Facebook and Instagram and it can be used for public relations purposes. In addition, you assure us that you own the rights to the text, photos and videos that you grant us the right to use them. We assume no responsibility for the contents of the individual contributions.
  5. Use and Disclosure of Personal Data and Purpose Specification
    • FINCO will keep confidential all personal information collected through this competition. We may however disclose such information to the following parties in the course of using the information for the reason it was collected:
      • A person or company acting on behalf of FINCO;
      • Any other person or company who has undertaken to keep such information confidential, provided they have a right to such information.
  6. Data Retention
    • We will keep any personal information you give us as long as there is a reason to do so, for instance to satisfy the law or regulations, or to protect our interests. If not, then we will destroy it by purging it from our electronic, manual, and other filing systems according to our internal procedures and schedules.
  7. Judging and Results
    • All submissions will be judged according to the official judging criteria.
    • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
    • Winners will be announced on 21 November 2025.
  8. Other Conditions
    • FINCO reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
    • Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
