FI Volunteers at SK Ulu Luit

Pahang, 2 July 2024: A safe and conducive learning environment plays an important role in ensuring students are able to focus on their learning and participate more actively in the classroom. To help schools that are still recovering from the heavy floods earlier this year, FINCO reached out to its financial industry members to collaborate on clean up and refurbishing efforts at SK Ulu Luit in Maran and SRA Islam At-Taqwa in Temerloh, benefitting more than 719 students in total. In addition to arranging additional manpower for these activities, FINCO has partnered with the financial industry to disburse flood relief aid to schools in need. From January to May 2024, RM187,313 has been disbursed to 11 affected schools throughout Malaysia.

Najwa Nur Hajidah Mohd Tarmizi, Finance Associate, from QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad with colleagues and other volunteers from AmBank (M) Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad and HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad teamed up to refurbish canteen tables and chairs at SRA Islam At-Taqwa in Temerloh to ensure students can enjoy recess safely and comfortably.
