Roundtable Discussion: Supporting Students’ Transition from Classroom to Career

In collaboration with

According to the Ministry of Education’s eProfil Kerjaya Murid (ePKM), nearly half of the SPM students (48.74%) from the 2021 session did not pursue further studies, a significant rise compared to the previous year’s 35.16%. The Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 highlights unequal higher education access, especially among different income groups, particularly the B40. These statistics underscore the need for a better understanding of students’ decision-making as they transition from Form 5 to guide them towards successful careers.

We invite policymakers, practitioners, NGOs and corporates to join this roundtable discussion to better understand students’ decision making and factors which influence them, and to explore opportunities for collaborations which can address some key challenges faced by students as they transition from school into employment or further education.
