Kuala Lumpur, 29 February 2024: The Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO) has signed an addendum to its memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education Malaysia’s English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) to address English literacy needs among Year 5 students. This represents an extension of the existing collaboration which began in 2021 and focused on supporting English teachers to identify and address foundational skills gaps through initial training and the Year 4 Remedial Instruction toolkit.
As per the addendum, FINCO will fund the development and printing of the toolkit and training materials, while ELTC will provide training and follow-up visits to assist Year 5 teachers in integrating proficiency assessments into everyday lessons, ensuring personalised learning and progress measurement.
